In case anybody was wondering about the bullish banner, yes, I did it before realizing that it was the ang moh New Year today lol But well, isn’t year’s bull run what we wanted for 2009? I can also continue to use this 4 weeks later 
It has been a roller-coaster ride this year, having gone through a tough but meaningless FYP (now that I look back, I doubt the days and nights sacrificed), prolonged unemployment, and a taste of being a model of life.
Last year, I brought out my 2007 resolutions and decided that I did well for it. For 2008… well… I attained non of the goals, not even my birthday resolutions. Part of the problem was due to the fact that I was unemployed, hence my material aspect of resolutions was not accomplished. Similarly, my aim to finish ZZGY by year’s end was not realized, although it still advanced.
Whether it’s for my upcoming job or for myself, I guess I owe myself an IPPT Silver for more than a year le. Similarly, should I succeed to book a date for driving test in Mar, I will work towards obtaining it with at least 5 lessons beforehand.
Assuming I start work proper in February, my 1st salary splurge will be on a new HDD. My old one seemed to be spoilt (and so does all the photos I kept in there), but recovering the data will take some $$$, which I will do after I acquire a new HDD.
The digital camera was one of the goals of 2008 I failed to achieve due to my unemployment, so I hope to accomplish that by next year. On the other hand, the PSP/XBox is a bit tricky. My new work may exhaust me to an extent I won’t be able to spend time on them, and buying one means having to buy a TV for myself too (meaning it’s not going to be a single-item purchase). What’s more, after I start training in June, how much more time can I spend on them? Thankfully, I have my PSP (which still stands as one of my Buy of the Year) and I can upkeep it with new games and memory cards (to store shows for the long nights in camp). That’s why I listed them without a deadline, meaning an ‘Open Option’ based on situation.
I long to revamp my desk le, partly cos it was too high for my comfort. I wanted to downgrade (from the present L-shape to a normal one, without much shelves). Similarly, this is not a one-item purchase. I would have to buy a move-able cabinet to store the PC peripherals that will lose their places in the revamp, and perhaps some boxes to store the rest of the stuff (books, photo albums). Of cos, a new chair as comfy as that in NUS library 
I set it as a birthday present for myself, with my own money.
Similarly, I need to set a year-long target for myself. Excluding savings plan, I must save quite an amount to start high-return investments. And according to my rate of advancement, ZZGY should be completed by end of next year.
Lastly, would be friendships. It encompasses strengthening current ones and recovering old ones. I don’t know if it’s the power of love or work (or perhaps me), certain friends have been giving me excuses to NOT go out with me for the past year. Whatever the reason is, I hope to bury the hatchet and move on. Similarly, there were friends whom I had not met for the whole year, despite some digital communications. Perhaps it’s time for me to be serious about getting them out and care for them like a true friend (Yes, I am referring to you, Miss Luo. I hope to get invited to your wedding dinner, so I will work towards that).
I think perhaps in a month’s time, after I sign the very important letter of offer, I will list down the stuff I will need to do due to employment. Like getting financial plans or insurance, etc. A will too, perhaps. Does anyone wants to join me when I do? Maybe we can get bulk discounts
