I Like John Cho

No! No! No!

In case anybody was wondering, he was the guy who played Harold in H&K. I’m not coming out of the closet and declaring my love for some guy I went to school with or met on a dating website.

But it’s the like, like; like I enjoy his presence like.

Anyways, I think he is one of the few Koreans (ethnically-speaking) whom I have no negative emotions attached to. In case anybody was wondering again, I hate all the Korean lecturers who taught me in my 4 years in NUS. 1 had curly hair (and he happened to be some-Cho too) and both couldn’t speak English as well as the PRCs.

So I guess the 1st thing about JC that puts him away from other Koreans I knew is that I was astonished there were Koreans who speak good English with no awkward accents.

Racist, I know.

Whatever.

That was not the main point.

After pondering for a few days, I realized what it was about him that made me feel he’s like-able: He looks like Wallace Chung!!

muahaha!

Wallace Chung was my idol in sec school days. I even had ALL his albums. But these years, he went to China and after making it big there, never bothered to say Hi to the rest of the Chinese pop scene.

Oh well…

And with Sammi devoting her life to God, I don’t really have anyone to look forward to.

Oh, back to the topic.

I went to search for some pictures to prove my point.

1st, they wore similar clothes with a similar hairstyle.

Oh, I realize they don’t really look alike in this pic. But I made an effort to stitch them together, so don’t waste.

Aniwaes, I also looked through one of Wallace’s really ANCIENT MVs and captured one pic:

which I think looked like John in this:

Sorry for the gal who appeared here, obviously I stole the pic from her website. The focus is on JC, k? haha…

Anyways, Wallace also had some paperboy-cap image, cos he had been filming all those Qing Dynasty shows that required him to shave his hair.

I think I made my point lah, they do really look alike.

And another thing about them, which also made me feel very irritated, was the fact that both of them are well into their thirties, but they look YOUNGER THAN ME.

arggghhhh…

Wallace is 34, if I’m not wrong, while JC is 36 (same as sammi!!) and with a kid.

sobz!

wo lian yi ge sheng guo hai zi de uncle dou bu ru…

Anyways, I think I blurred the focus of this post with the Wallace-John Cho comparison thingy. Apparently, Wallace is a bigger thing in the entertainment industry, cos he had TONNES of photos on the net. hahah… Don’t play play. We are talking about 1.4 billion consumers in China leh…

For those interested, JC acted in Ugly Betty Season 2 as Henry’s irritating accountant colleague. Somehow I have the feeling that the role was created just so JC could be in it, cos he was getting those special cameos and his lines just stood out (as plain irritating). And he looked so natural, I wonder if he was like that in real life (ya… he was more ‘real’ in UB2 than in H&K).

He also acted in House!! muahaha! Never realized until I went back to see the episode. He was spotting the typical Korean bushy hairstyle, as a character whom everyone assumed was scared into stroke by House.

As an Asian American, his roles in the mainstream films were restricted to Passerbys-with-names. Perhaps he should really consider coming to Asia itself to develop his acting career. Somehow, I think Asians are better off making it big in Asia than go Hollywood. Just thinking.

I think I wrote a lot already. Not quite relevant, but point’s made.

Though I like H&K, I doubt I will declare I like Kal Penn. muahaha! You guys should know why…
