Engin Bridge is Destroyed
Some smart aleck decided that the stone facade along engin bridge was too boring. That, I agree. But that (or maybe another) smart aleck decided to commission some half-fuck painter (I refuse to call him ‘artist’) to do up the place… into a freaking, ugly mural!
Even the murals in children homes have much better standard than this!! I mean, the pix were so juvenile, there was apparently no cohesion among the elements to hint of a theme (if there is any at all). The colours were mono; no shading AT ALL. Although I don’t really know about colour theory, the colour mix in this mural was definitely an eye sore! The elements were those that even I can draw (what’s with the black guy stabbed by POSB logo, the box with 2 circles a.k.a car, a bowl and a black shirt??)
It was totally a moronic idea to paint on the rock facade!! I doubt even Michaelangelo could draw well on that!!
Statues, yes, carved into the rock or placed on them. Landscape, like they did outside Computer Centre on the other side of the engin bridge, ok. Even putting cardboard cows would also look MUCH BETTER than painting (and note: using very cheapo-looking paint) onto the rocks!!
What the hell were they thinking?!?!
I am so… gonna write a complaint letter to OED for ruining what was originally a good (although lok-kok) facade. I mean, the idea of rock facades along a bridge was quite novel, nevermind it was collecting dust and looked musty.
Like what my lecturer from RVI said, SG is still far from having street art. He lamented those along SG River were disastrous. Well, I think those along SG River are supreme art pieces compared to this… this… UGLY THING.
ARGGGHHHHH!!!
p/s: End up I didn’t complain, cos I dunno who/what to complain. So I posted the pic onto omy.sg. ya… haha…
