Celebration!

My blog had its highest number of views on 11 Mar 2008, at 99. Good number too. haha… Funny thing was, although I purposely wrote the McDonald’s reward points entry to boost the traffic for the last 6 hours leg of the day, that post only had ONE view during that period (although it is currently today’s most-viewed post). Meaning, I wrote a post to boost traffic, but it didn’t, and yet the traffic was boosted.

Irony.

Anyways, I noticed something about my watch yesterday.

It was Tuesday yesterday, but at the place where it was supposed to show the day, it showed ‘IU’. ah… Cheap stuff no good lah. But it just looks nice. haha…

I went to pack my notes and stuff (in my locker at Arts). I was having difficulty finding various notes, and always realizing what I needed was not with me, when I thought it was in my bursting-with-notes file.

In general, I dumped all my FYP-related notes in my locker. Those that I don’t need to refer/rejected/failed print-outs. FYP especially, since I can’t do my FYP in my room also. And putting paper in locker means subjecting it to the power of nature. Usually, the paper will come out damp and smelly. haha…

Whatever.

I was talking about my FYP notes. And I was rather impressed by my collection.

The ones in the red ring folder contained manuals/release notes of the simulation programs, photocopies of readings, notes of modules related to my FYP topic, journals and past 2 CAs’ reports. The pile on the folder contained hand-written results of testing and MORE manuals. The pile in the background, upper right hand corner, is all the rejects and print-outs that will never see itself in the thesis.

Ironically, I don’t think I read half the words in the great pile. The manuals, yes, perhaps 80% of the related stuff. But the others… I printed out for security. haha…

McDonald’s is Abolishing Reward Points

/* I double-checked with McDonald’s website that the last date of earning reward points will be on 11 Apr 2008 (dun understand the weird date) and the last date of redemption will be 31 May 2008. The exact details can be found from the pdf file released by McDonald’s */

Since my post on McDonald’s reward points cork-up was like delivering constant traffic everyday since its inception (not a lot, but it’s the longest-surviving), I shall write some more about it to attract traffic. haha…

But the funny thing was the traffic for the post today was at its highest (since the 1st day). It turned out that there was a reason:

McDonald’s is abolishing the rewards points system, which could explain why everybody is searching for ‘McDonald’s reward points’ on the net (to find their website) and ended up drifting to this B+ place. haha…

But me and giam saw the notice at Mac’s just now.

Oh gosh!

They will stop dishing out reward points after 11 Apr (if I didn’t remember wrongly) and the last date of redemption is end May. (Either that, or no reward points after end Mar and no redemption after 11 Apr. ooh la la! sounds like some gothic phrases).

I was wondering aloud with giam on whether it was cos I complained. haha… Someone up there saw my complains, asked for reasons, and then decided to end the programme due to the high risks and commitment.

If that’s the case, then I’m sorry to the general public who is as upset as me (and depends on the reward points in times of needy).

But I was thinking it could also be that they were already intending to end that programme, such that they decided to do a grumpy old kid a favour to allow him to get his reward points. Not that he wouldt get that much anyways within such a short time.

lol

In anyway, people please eat all you can before the last date of reward, and then redeem all you can before the redemption date. Eat one year’s worth of Mac’s for now and stop eating Mac’s for 2 years.

haha… What the moronic idea was that?

Self-slapping… :)
